PERSONAL BIO

Dr. Cook was in the business world with IBM for 14 years followed by 5 years as the Director of Information Systems for a $100+ million entertainment company. After his conversion in his 30s, he began attending the Vineyard Church in Anaheim California pastored by John Wimber. There he realized that Christians have been empowered to “do the stuff” and not just try to live godly lives while they are waiting for heaven. At the Anaheim Vineyard, he and his wife, Carolyn, were trained as church planters and subsequently planted the Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Seattle Washington in 1987. The Seattle Vineyard is a church that God has called to live an invitational, incarnational lifestyle where they modeled acceptance prior to correction through what we referred to as “low threshold evangelism.” They tried hard not to have getting into the church get in the way of people getting into Christ. Now Dr. Cook is writing, teaching, coaching, and consulting as the principal of Care-Full Coaching; working for Faithlife (Logos) as a Contributing Editor in Mobile Education; and serving as a Mentor Professor at Redemption Seminary.
