Redemption Seminary Academic Calendars

The annual academic calendar is divided into three 16-week semesters. Within each semester there are two homestretch terms, each finishing with a faculty week. Faculty weeks are the time when students submit course reviews, faculty submit grades, and the institution works on finding ways to improve the curriculum. This week is also when any make-up mentoring sessions are scheduled.

Regular Key Windows and Deadlines

  • Homestretch Registration Deadline—In every other month (see academic calendar) there is a deadline for registering with a mentor for the subsequent homestretch mentoring term. Students who miss this deadline can register for the next homestretch term and work on the self-paced aspect of courses in the meantime.

  • Zero Week Meeting—When a student has registered to be mentored by someone who hasn’t mentored them previously, they will schedule a meeting with that mentor during the faculty week prior to the homestretch term that they are scheduled to be mentored.

  • RS450 Assignment Submission Window—New students are enrolled in a non-mentored course. They must pass the course assignments before they can register for their first mentored course. Assignments will be accepted for grading between the first week of each homestretch term and the submission deadline for that term. Typically that is the end of the fourth week of the term, except for the 2nd fall homestretch term when it is the end of the sixth week. These dates are marked on the academic calendar.

  • Resolving Incompletes—Students have one year to improve an incomplete grade to a passing grade, or it will revert to a failing grade. Students in this uncommon situation should allow time to retake and pass the appropriate course.

  • If a national or religious holiday falls within a term, mentor-professors are free to find a mutually agreeable time for a rescheduled mentoring session. Such arrangements should be planned when a student and mentor determine their regular mentoring time.
